Research and Development

Vision & Mission of R & D
To provide accessible quality education for all by designing innovative products that shape the lives of the people we educate.
The Research & Development department, since its inception, has created content for the entire K-12 segment for different types/genres of schools, spanning a wide spectrum from premium target groups with higher incomes to the lower middle class segment. These efforts have resulted in creating different pedagogically-designed products. R & D also ensures smooth implementation of curriculum developed and designed by its team. Rigorous training programmes for master trainers, teachers and the marketing team are held to reiterate the philosophy and methodology of each project and product.

Innovation @work — Our Products
Educomp’s R & D has pioneered a vast range of products to meet the needs of learners from all segments of society. Changing trends have always enthused R & D to experiment and innovate to redefine the old and to create new learning systems in the fields of curriculum, assessment and language.
The learning systems created at R & D offer a multitude of curricula to match the requirements of the target groups which range from young preschoolers to mature learners. Our pioneering Pre school curriculum, Little Millennium, aims at developing language, cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, socio emotional skills, personal awareness and nurturing individual talent in the long run. The Seven petals and Eclectic approach in Little Millennium is an outcome of 15 yrs of intense research in areas of pedagogy and instructional design, so tailored as to develop intended skill in focused theme and age group.

The Millennium Learning System forms the backbone of The Millennium Schools, which aims to impart 21st century skills to the new age learners. It beautifully integrates the NCERT educational content with the best pedagogic teaching methodologies and latest technological tools. The Millennium Learning System exposes learners to a vast variety of vocations and orients them towards a secure future. It is characterised by a ‘Learning by Doing’ and ‘Project’ approach. Our endeavour is to liberate children from the tyranny of rote learning and thereby empower them to be independent and focused thinkers.

The One on One Learning System has been developed at R & D in collaboration with Intel to revolutionise education. The system integrates technology with pedagogy, thereby empowering teachers with innovative teaching strategies and tools to adopt a blended learning approach in the classrooms. It exposes the learners to a world of information that is available at the click of a button.

Learning Hour, a chain of tutoring centres, caters to the tutoring needs of school students. The learning material has been created by subject matter experts to equip learners with practice exercises that have been well-researched and crafted at Educomp’s research centre. Approximately 1200 modules and a bank of 10,000 questions based on varying skills and complexity have been created specially for this programme.

‘Education for All’ is the inspiration behind the chain of Vidya Prabhat Schools. These are budget schools with a specially designed curriculum that ensures that students learn from their environment—‘maximum use of minimum resources’—in a cost effective manner. Content is mapped to individual themes and the environment is seen as a learning tool that uses natural resources which are easily available to the learners.
What Lies Ahead—Future Projects
The ever-expanding field of education provides inspiration and impetus to the team at R & D to create innovative learning solutions for new needs.
EnglishCan is an innovative easy-to-use English Language Teaching System in collaboration with the world’s best name in English teaching—Pearson Education Limited—that promises to open new gateways to success at every communication platform. It aims at providing a powerful means of social and business communication for a variety of audience and transforming them into global citizens with good entrepreneurial skills.

ABCL — the Autonomy Based Concept Learning — which focuses on allowing each child to be the master of his own learning. It is an endeavour to enable the learner to reach his/her optimum potential while learning at different levels. By autonomous learning a student learns to think independently and extends his/her learning beyond mere rote memorisation of facts and moves toward higher order critical thinking through practice sheets. Thus, learning is progressive, moving from basic knowledge and comprehension to the level of application.

EduIgnite is a progressive and scientifically designed assessment system that helps students identify and nurture their inner potential to achieve excellence. EduIgnite, with its motto of ‘Inspiring Excellence’, is aimed at helping students to achieve success in their chosen fields.
